PS Do you know about a car the Bricklin SV1.
I would like to use the article in the December issue of Canadian Technician for my monthly shop newsletter, what is your cost for rights to use it? could i include an add for your book and website as well?
By all means, Brad, feel free to add the column to your newsletter…I’d be honored to help guys promote their shop and educate their customers. And the promotion of the book would be most appreciated as well!

Hi is there no store in Taber or Lethbridge that carry your book? (Im a machanics daughter and need this book for my dad for Christmas. He bought his shop in ’71 and still going strong-age 65!)
Hi Donna,
No, I don’t have an outlet handling my book in that area yet (although the pharmacy in Claresholm does carry my book). The best method would be to purchase it here online via PayPal. Right now it doesn’t cost you any extra since we are paying the shipping as a Christmas special!
Rick
Good day to you Rick and company,
I have bought 2 copies of the book after enjoying the stories in the SSGM magazine for years, and the book was great as well, time for #2???
In the current SSGM story, there was I think a blatent product placement around a specific tool by a specific manufacturer, if this was intentional, Rick please reconsider, your stories were I think the only page (articles included) that wasn’t trying to sell me something. I enjoy having the last thing I read (I save the best for last) just that, enjoyment, not a sales pitch.
Thanks for the great past and future work, I still look forward to the next installment….
Rob
Hello Rob, thanks for leaving a comment. I’m glad you enjoyed book one, and yes, I’m currently working on the sequel (where Slim builds and moves into his new shop – should be fun!). I’ll try to post some updates on the website soon to keep the readership informed.
Concerning the last article in Canadian Technician (SSGM was a few years back!), that product mention was an error on my part, simply because I was under the impression that the tool was only made by a particular company and no other – I should have known better! My goal was to help the techs solve a problem, not promote a brand name, so thanks for keeping me on my toes – much appreciated.:)
Hope you’re having a successful year in the trade!
Rick
Rick:
is there a time line for the 2nd book yet?
Hi Randy. Working on book 2 now, hope to have it ready for the fall. Thanks for checking in!
